Hotel Ascona

For well over a century, Hotel Ascona has welcomed guests to one of the most beautiful and culturally resonant corners of southern Switzerland. Lovingly stewarded across three generations of the Biasca-Caroni family, the hotel has cultivated a distinctive atmosphere of elegance, warmth, and attentive hospitality. Today, that legacy continues in a setting shaped by beauty, memory, and continuity—making Hotel Ascona not merely a destination, but a fitting home for gatherings devoted to reflection, dialogue, and return.

A Historic Crossroads of Culture and Consciousness

Ascona and Monte Verità occupy a singular place in the cultural history of modern Europe. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Monte Verità became a gathering place for reformers, artists, mystics, and intellectual experimenters seeking new forms of life beyond the constraints of industrial modernity; in time, the wider Ascona region would also give rise to Eranos, the renowned forum where leading thinkers explored myth, religion, psychology, and the hidden structures of consciousness. Together, they formed a landscape in which artistic, philosophical, and spiritual inquiry were brought into rare and fruitful relation—a legacy that continues to lend the region its distinctive atmosphere of beauty, depth, and intellectual possibility.

Luxurious Accommodations

Accommodations at Hotel Ascona are offered through three room types, allowing guests to choose among communal, shared, or private modes of stay while enjoying the hotel’s distinctive atmosphere of cultivated ease, classical elegance, and quiet luxury. For the duration of the colloquium, Hotel Ascona will be reserved exclusively for our attendees, lending the entire experience an uncommon sense of intimacy, cohesion, and retreat from the ordinary world. Tastefully appointed with refined materials and gracious warmth, all rooms include a balcony or terrace and look out over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains, offering a setting of genuine repose amidst extraordinary natural beauty. Because the gathering is intentionally intimate and the hotel’s capacity is limited, shared accommodation is available in the larger room categories, while a smaller number of private rooms is reserved for those who prefer greater privacy and retreat.

An Investment in Depth, Beauty, and Meaning

We have designed this colloquium to offer an unusual degree of quality and coherence across the entire experience: intellectually serious exchange, a setting of exceptional beauty, elegant accommodations, and full hospitality across five days in Ascona. The value of attendance lies not only in the program itself, but in the rare opportunity to participate in a gathering where depth, refinement, and meaningful human encounter are held together as one.
