An Intentionally Limited Gathering
Our colloquium is designed as a concentrated field of serious conversation, intellectual depth, and uncommon human encounter. For that reason, attendance is strictly limited to 60 places (not including speakers and staff) across all accommodation tiers. Reservations will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and some room categories are expected to fill more quickly than others.
Early Registration is Recommended
We encourage early reservations both to secure preferred accommodations and to take advantage of reduced pricing tiers. Given the limited capacity of the gathering and the small number of available rooms in each category, early booking is strongly recommended. To be invited to register, please fill out our Apply to Join form. Registration invitations will be sent in late April.
Recommended Travel Itinerary
To make your journey to Monte Verità as smooth and stress-free as possible, we have prepared a strongly recommended travel itinerary for colloquium participants. Because arrival through other cities can significantly complicate onward travel to Locarno, we encourage all guests to review these guidelines carefully before booking flights and rail connections.
Choose Your Residential Package
Attendance is offered through a limited number of all-inclusive residential packages at Hotel Ascona, set on Monte Verità above Lake Maggiore. Each package includes four nights of accommodations and five days of participation in the full colloquium experience: access to all programmed sessions, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and admission to the closing gala dinner on the final evening.
Because this gathering is intentionally intimate and the entire hotel will be reserved exclusively for our colloquium, attendance is strictly limited to 60 participants. Guests may choose between Single Occupancy and Double Occupancy packages, depending on whether they prefer the privacy of a room of their own or the comfort and conviviality of a shared stay.

Hotel Ascona’s culinary program emphasizes refined cuisine rooted in the Ticino and Mediterranean traditions, interpreted with freshness and elegance. The hotel notes that its chefs use fresh, high-quality ingredients and that special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. Dining takes place in an elegant setting with a spacious terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore and the surrounding hills, as well as a pergola set within private gardens.

South Facing Single — Private accommodation for one participant

The Single Occupancy Package — South-Facing Single is designed for guests who prefer privacy, quiet, and a room of their own, while seeking the most modestly priced single-occupancy option available for the colloquium. It is especially well-suited to those who value comfort and personal space for reading, writing, reflection, and rest between sessions.
Hotel Ascona describes its South-Facing Single Rooms as 129 sq ft accommodations with views of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding hills, a balcony or terrace, and a private bathroom with a shower. Cozy yet comfortable, they offer an appealing option for guests wishing for quiet simplicity. The rooms are also soundproofed and include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, a desk, and an in-room safe.

The Double Occupancy Package — Apartment with Terrace offers the most expansive shared accommodation available for the colloquium, well-suited to guests who are comfortable sharing while enjoying a setting of unusual spaciousness, privacy, and ease. More akin to a compact suite than a conventional hotel room, it provides an especially gracious environment for shared stay.
Hotel Ascona describes these apartments as approximately 538 square feet, with two spacious soundproofed sleeping areas, a large bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a separate sitting room with sofa and spacious desk.
